Reports came out this morning that a new and thinner iPad is scheduled for release in April. This was first reported by the blog iMore, which is usually spot on. The blog also claims that the iPhone 5S, which won't be a major update from the current iPhone, is planned for an August release.
We reached out to our source at Apple, who claims that a 5th generation iPad is definitely in the works (and with stereo speakers), but can't be 100 percent positive that an April release date is imminent. "Buyers definitely won't have to wait until this fall. That's all I can say for now," our source tells us.
Many people are patiently awaiting a Retina version of the iPad mini. Rumors put this release in the fall but some say it will debut sooner. Apple needs these two devices to be top-notch; they are fading as a company and need to compete against new devices by Samsung and HTC. Are you excited about the 5th generation iPad or iPad mini?
