IPad 4 is available in two versions

WOCHit's video report of March 18, 2014 alerted The Examiner that the new version (two) of the iPad 4 is now available. Apple released the news today (with commentary from Phil Schiller) and so did the Apple Insider. What is of concern is that you might need the information to decipher all of this from sources other than Apple's iPad site. The Wall Street Journal may also offer some help in identifying the new versions. It's just that - as of today - the iPad 4 is not yet "identified" in the new iPad shop-and-compare notes online.

In the Apple PR Phil Schiller (Senior VP, Worldwide Marketing) expressed excitement for the $399 iPad 4 with a 9.7 inch Retina display and A6 chip. But there just wasn't enough excitement for the two versions to hold the usual Apple marketing show? Perhaps the audience will soon get a YouTube video on the new iPad. The other version of the re-done iPad is currently priced at $529. Both will have 16 GB capacity with WiFi but the high end version will also provide cellular communication. Both are good with LTE carriers "worldwide". But please check with your provider before you make a decision.

The other version of this iPad news is that the "original" iPad 2 is either in a production re-scale or extinction event. That is possibly a big reason for avoiding a Cupertino conference. The new version iPad 4's also make up the fourth generation iPad. Battery life still appears to be rated at 10 hours for the new versions. But there are new features advertised for this next generation iPad. The Control Center, Notification Center, "improved Multitasking", Air Drop®, "enhanced Photos", Safari®, Siri® and iTunes Radio℠ are 'new' and may be of interest.

A visit to the iPad/iPad with Retina page lets you shop the two versions with selected information on the devices' operations. You get two color choices with the new iPad 4's: black or white. The page even gives you pricing (estimated?) for your carrier charges with the 4 major providers. For more vital information on the new iPad 4 please see the FAQs and Technical Specifications under the carrier information. Please also contact your retailer for availability if you are purchasing locally.
