Harvey has worked in energy storage for the last 10 years in such companies as Beacon Power, in the telecommunication field and lastly at A123 Systems with its well known and proven lithium batteries. His work at Avestor was centered around on lithium metal polymer technology within the telecommunication industry and his last 3 years at A123 Systems furthered moved along battery storage from technical trials to full-fledged successful commercial applications. Harvey's move to Ioxus will further newer and complementing technologies in the ultracapacitor field.
His experience at A123 with sales, product managing and production will be a great asset for Ioxus, especially with its upcoming push for business development and new technologies.
Technically speaking, Harvey's focus for his team at Ioxus will concentrate on increasing power cycling, cold temperature and performance to match ultracapacitors to specific applications. He sees the use of ultracapacitors as not only important for hybrids and plug-in hybrids, PHEVs but also for pure electric vehicles, EVs. The bulk of his work for the next few years will be spent on smoothing out power, which will make ultracapacitors the perfect fit for the transportation field as it embraces hybrid solutions and pure electric drive. Ioxus is now focusing on getting its ultracapacitors to the market and working closely with its clients finding.
Harvey's experience in the storage industry will allow Ioxus to focus its resources on finding specific solutions for their clients and to offer the help they need. As more industries embrace the advantages of ultracapacitors, Ioxus will develop more applications based on their needs. Asked about what the storage industry and its clients need most now, Ioxus believes systems integration and information is where the works needs to happen. With Harvey's working knowledge of the lithium technology market, he will be a great fit for the ultracapacitor industry. Although I generally like your articles I wonder why you write about ultracapacitors? So far we have not seen them in evs.

Yes, ultracaps have not made it yet into the EV/hybrid world but it will. It is a fantastic product that, although does not replace a battery, is the perfect bridge and load balancing system for the continuous strain on batteries.
Plus, as aficionados as we are, it does not hurt to learn about eventual and probable technologies that will make it into the EV world. Nick
