After winning just 18 Big Ten Conference volleyball matches over her six years with the program, Sharon Dingman's contract was not renewed by the University of Iowa.

The school announced Thursday that a national search for Dingman's replacement will begin immediately.

"I have enjoyed being the volleyball coach at the University of Iowa," Dingman said. "I appreciate the opportunity to represent this world class university.

"I would like to thank the administration for their support and commitment to the volleyball program. I have been blessed to have the most hard-working, dedicated and positive staff one could ask for. Above all else, I extend my deepest gratitude to the players for their commitment to excellence in the classroom and on the court."

Dingman went 66-125 overall in the past six seasons and was just 18-102 in Big Ten Conference play.
