Iowa State wrestling reunion on Takedown Wrestling Saturday

The forecast is for Cyclones this weekend as some of the all-time great Iowa State wrestlers will be featured guests on Takedown Wrestling this Saturday, Aug. 24, the weekly radio broadcast announced Thursday, Aug. 22.

Join Scott Casber, Kurt Backes and Brad Johnson live this Saturday 9-11 a.m. Central and 10 a.m.-noon Eastern for the Cyclone Wrestling Reunion Show 2013.

The first hour opens with David Zabriskie, 2010 NCAA heavyweight champ for Iowa State, who will be one of the familiar faces in the new Foxcatcher movie, opening in December. At 9:20, Zach Roberson, 2004 NCAA 133-pound champ, takes the mic… followed by Jon Reader, 2011 NCAA 177 champ at 9:35… and, at 9:45, Trent Paulson, 2007 NCAA champ at 157.

In the second hour, at 10 a.m. it’s none other than Bobby Douglas, pioneering wrestler and coach who, as head coach at Iowa State, could claim ten individual NCAA titles. At 10:15, Chris Bono, 150-lb. 1996 NCAA champ for Iowa State, now head coach at South Dakota State. Travis Paulson, three-time Cyclone All-American, is the featured guest at 10:30… followed by Joe Heskett, 2002 165 lb. NCAA champ, now Army head coach, at 10:45.
