Iowa Football: My final college football national rankings

See also

The season is over. Here is a rundown of how I voted in our final examiner.com football poll. This just wasn't a year where there were clear-cut teams that should be ranked. We had teams like Duke, Central Florida and Marshall that won at least nine games in football.

Several other teams that could have been ranked simply just didn't perform in the bowl games. So if a team came into its bowl game ranked around 15-25 and got blown out in their game, I likely removed them completely for some other team who showed up to win.

The SEC streak over eight straight national championships is over. Michigan State lost just once this year so I felt like the Spartans deserved that No. 2 spot over Auburn. The Tigers were clearly talented but I can't get over the two losses and the two wins that shouldn't have been.
