It took him awhile to make a final decision, but Cedar Falls standout running back Barkley Hill decided to make a change recently.
The 6-foot, 205-pounder has switched his verbal commitment from Iowa State to instate rival Iowa and is planning to sign his National Letter of Intent in nine days and play for the Hawkeyes.
Hill is a two-star recruit who is ranked No. 119 overall, a similar number that was given to current Iowa freshman Jordan Canzeri during his recruitment last year.
Hill's decision to change universities may have been swayed by the fact that Iowa is losing two running backs this season as sophomore Marcus Coker and freshman Mika'il McCall have both decided to transfer.
The Cedar Falls standout is no slouch though. Hill ranked fifth in the state of Iowa in rushing yards with 2,493. He also tied for the fifth most TDs with 40. Cedar Falls went 9-1 in the regular season and advanced all the way to the Class 4A Semifinals, where they lost to the eventual state runner-up Bettendorf 35-7.
Hill averaged nearly eight yards per carry and toated the rock 319 times this past season.
