The University of Iowa and head football coach Kirk Ferentz announced Friday morning that junior linebacker Marcus Collins has been dismissed from the team after he was charged with an alcohol related offense early Friday morning.
The Yeadon, Penn., native has played in just six games this year and was not listed on the two-deep roster. Most of his action has been on special teams, and he finished the season with six tackles and one forced fumble.
“Marcus was currently serving a three-game suspension,” said Ferentz. “He has now been dismissed from our football program. We will assist Marcus as he pursues other options to continue his career. We wish him the best moving forward.”
