Iowa Energy control Erie Bayhawks over weekend

The Iowa Energy are rolling.  They have won nine out of their last ten games and the victories have come by an average of 13 points.

The last two of those wins came this weekend over the Erie Bayhawks.  The Energy beat the Bayhawks 97-94 Friday night and 102-78 on Saturday night.  The victory Saturday night came before a crowd of 8,336 people.

Over the weekend the Energy shot an average of 46.5 percent from behind the arc and 46 percent from two point range.  Leading the way was Pat Carroll scoring 17 and 25 while shooting a sizzling 70 percent from the field both nights.

Curtis Stinson, distributor in chief, tallied up 16 assists over the weekend while also scoring 12 and 13 points respectively.  Cartier Martin also contributed to the winning effort scoring 13 points Friday and 21 Saturday while shooting 47 percent from the field.

Offense wasn't the only story of the weekend for the Energy.  General manager Chris Makris has stated that the Energy "play tough defense".

They backed it up.  The Energy held the Bayhawks to an average of 42 percent from two point range and 22 percent from three point range.  They also forced 18 turnovers Friday night and 19 on Saturday night.

Next up for the Energy will again be the Erie Bayhawks Tuesday night at Wells Fargo Arena.  Game time is 7:00 pm.  Following this the Energy will be off for a week then start a three game road trip on Feburary 16 against the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
