The Iowa Energy got past the Erie Bayhawks 85-82 in Tuesday night's game at Wells Fargo Arena. That makes it the fourth victory over the Bayhawks in six days. This improves the Energy's overall record to 26-6.
The game was back and forth all night, with each team gaining and giving up leads throughout the contest. Midway through the fourth quarter the Energy secured a 70-66 lead that they would not surrender.
Defense was a deciding factor in the victory for the Energy. The Bayhawks were only able to muster 39 percent shooting from two point range and 30 percent from behind the arc. The Energy also forced 18 turnovers for the game.
In a night where the Energy struggled offensively, Othyus Jeffers led the way in the scoring department. He had 21 points while shooting 62 percent from the field. He also snagged 13 rebounds for the game.
Curtis Stinson again delivered the ball to his teammates, ending with 9 assists. Courtney Sims added 14 points to the winning effort, while going 8-10 from the free throw line.
