The Iowa women's basketball team has won eight straight games heading into the Big Ten Tournament this weekend.
And freshman Sam Logic is a big reason why.
The former high school All-American from Racine, Wisconsin, averaged a double-double last week and was honored by the Big Ten Conference on Monday. Logic was named Co-Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week by the league office. Logic shared the award with Ohio State's Samantha Prahalis.
It was the third straight freshman of the week honor for Logic, and she earned co-Player of the Week honors for the second time in three weeks.
In Iowa's two wins over Michigan and Northwestern last week, Logic averaged 15 points, 11.5 rebounds and eight assists.
Logic had 13 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists and just on turnover against Michigan on Sunday. It was the fourth triple-double in Iowa's program history. And it was just the 10th triple double in the country this season.
Logic has produced four straight double-doubles and has six on the season. She had 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists against Northwestern.
The Hawkeyes (19-10, 11-5) clinched the No. 3 seed in the Big Ten Tournament this weekend. Iowa will play either No. 6 Nebraska or No. 11 Northwestern at 1 p.m. Friday on the Big Ten Network.
