The first look fans will get at the University of Iowa men’s and women’s basketball teams will be Friday, Oct. 25, at the Black & Gold Blowout.
The event will take place at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, starting at 8 p.m. The doors open at 7 p.m. and will take place after Iowa plays host to nationally ranked Northwestern on the gridiron at Kinnick Stadium.
Tickets to the event are $5 for adults and free for University of Iowa students and anyone under 18 years of age. All seating is general admission. Tickets can be purchased at the U of I ticket office.
The fans will have a chance to win prizes and obtain autographs before the game. That is why they are encouraged to arrive early. Autographs will be signed at the end of the night for about 30 minutes.
The Hawkeye men return 12 letterwinners and are expected to be in contention for an NCAA Tournament berth after reaching the NIT championship last season. The squad returns four starters and welcomes two newcomers – Peter Jok and Jarrod Uthoff – who are expected to log big-time minutes.
The Iowa women bring back eight letterwinners and adds three newcomers to a team that went 21-13 last year and made its sixth straight NCAA Tournament.
