iOS 7 download problems: New Apple iPhone software upgrade brings error issues

If you're having iOS 7 download problems for your iPhone 5 phone or iPad tablet, you're not alone. The new iOS 7 software upgrade was released on Wednesday, Sept. 18 and caused a slew of slow downloads, error messages and other complications. However, it's been reported that it was merely an overload on Apple's servers causing the problems.

A Sept. 18 report via CNN.com said that some of the issues included messages saying the software was "unable to download" or that the update was just unavailable. Others saw extremely long download time estimates, ranging from several hours to over a day in time to download.

Despite all that, CNN reports that the issues were caused by the masses rushing to try to download the update for their iPhones and iPads all at once. That likely caused servers to fill up beyond capacity on Apple's side of things. So not only did it take some time to retrieve and download the iOS 7 upgrade, it also required a second connection to the servers to "verify" the upgrade.

It's expected that the iOS 7 will come standard on the new iPhone 5C and 5S phones that are officially available today, but that's unknown, so there may be another rush to get to the new upgrade. As for the iOS 7 download problems, it's believed these may have subsided since the initial rush may have calmed down a bit.

Were you able to download the new iOS 7 software on your device or did you have issues? What is your early impression of it?
