iOS 7 download is now available. The latest software update from Apple is ready for your iPhone (4 and later), iPad (2 and later), iPad Mini and iPod Touch (fifth generation) today. According to Mashable on Sept. 18, good things come to those who wait.
To update to iOS 7, visit Settings > General > Software Update on your iOS device. You should see a notification that iOS 7 is available for download.
iOS 7 download as reported earlier here, "iPhone 5S: Apple iPhone 5S pictures (Photos)," is a 64-bit operating system which includes support for the new Touch ID fingerprint sensor on the newest iPhones. It also comes with Control Center, AirDrop for iOS and enhanced multitasking features.
Before you attempt to download iOS 7, you should do a full manual backup of your device first. Visit Settings > iCloud > Backup & Storage to backup to iCloud. If you enable this feature, your device will be backed up automatically going forward. Space is limited though, so remember to back up your iTunes library and photos separately elsewhere first.
To get the iOS 7 download today may require some patience though. This morning many users reported errors, including yours truly. "An error occurred downloading iOS 7.0" was the message that came up several times. I am currently downloading iOS 7 now, and it looks good.
