Shayna Saide LaBeouf will debut her “Invitation to a Dream” exhibition at the JNA Gallery at Bergamot Art Station Center in Santa Monica on May 5, with an open to the public reception from 7 to 10 PM. The solo exhibition of LaBeouf’s visionary work will be the featured element in JNA’s Mother’s Day offerings, which also include exhibitions of Vintage Americana as well as a group show in adjacent galleries.
Timed to open just before Mother’s day on May 11, one of the themes throughout Shayna’s work is the sacred bond between mother and child. Stephanie du Tan in Whole Life Times writes that LaBeouf’s work “is a profound poetic meditation on the nature of love and compassion as embodied in the feminine principle”. These unique and inspirational tableaux, showcased in elegant shadow boxes are the result of the artist’s personal meditations on love, compassion and acceptance.
The exhibition will showcase a collection of approximately thirty small mixed media works as well as a dozen freestanding sculptural purses. Combining found objects with vintage jewelry, crystal, and fragments of glass, stone and metal, her imagery spans the ages combining art movements from the Renaissance, Pre-Raphaelites, Victorian era’s as well as 20th century art currents such as the magical art of Henri Rousseau, the personal surrealism of Frida Kahlo and the celebration of the Feminine by Judy Chicago.

A portion of the proceeds from the exhibition will be donated in part to Artists for Trauma, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of both civilian and military trauma survivors by pairing recovering patients with established artists from various disciplines.
