According to a Feb. 13 report from Bloody Elbow, Invicta FC has replenished its roster with talent from across the globe, and several of the promotion's next wave of superstars will be featured at Invicta FC 8.
The all-female promotion smoothly adjusted to the UFC scooping up 11 of their best strawweights late last year, as Invicta FC officials recently replaced their departed stars by securing the services of Brazilian striker Herica Tiburcio, 115-pound submission ace Livia Renata Souza, North Carolina striker Ashley "Doll Face" Greenway and atomweight phenom Amber Brown, along with heavy-handed superstars Irena Aldana and Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
Additionally, Invicta FC officials announced the signings of TUF 18 alums Peggy "The Daywalker" Morgan and Roxanne Modafferi.
Morgan, a tall, lanky 135-pounder, went 2-1 since turning pro in 2012. She defeated Kaline Medeiros and Revelina Berto in her first two pro MMA fights, but she fell short against Jessamyn Duke in her first and only official UFC fight.
As for Modafferi, the 31-year-old became a fan favorite on TUF 18 after turning in gritty efforts against Jessica Rakoczy and others.
Modafferi, a submission ace, holds wins over some of the best 135-pounders on the planet, including Marloes Coenen. Modafferi also defeated Tara LaRosa, Vanessa Porto and others.
In total, the promotion has signed 15 women since the UFC signed away most of their top strawweights.
Founded in 2012 by longtime MMA executive Shannon Knapp and former matchmaker Janet Martin, Invicta FC is committed to pushing women's MMA to the next level by developing future superstars of the sport.
With Morgan and Modafferi on their team, it's safe to say the promotion is well on their way towards accomplishing that goal.
