"Yay! The @InvictaFights next fight card has been announced! #InvictaFC7 will take place on December 7th!! Spread the word! :)" Esparza tweeted.
Fight fans have gotten used to Invicta FC hosting a show every three months since the promotion's first event in April of 2012.
However, the most recent event, "Invicta FC 6: Cyborg vs. Coenen 2," took place July 13, which would result in a five-month span before Invicta FC 7.
Some have speculated that the promotion is struggling financially, but the most likely reason for the five-month gap is the fact that Knapp and company don't want to go head-to-head with the UFC or Bellator.
Invicta FC 7 needed a night all to its own, which wiped away some of the promotion's planned dates in November.
From a scheduling standpoint, most of the organization's top stars should be ready to fight by December's show.
While Invicta FC officials haven't yet announced which fighters will be on the next card, Knapp has said in recent interviews that she expects at least two title fights and possibly a third.
Felice Herrig is also expected to be competing on the Invicta FC 7 card.
Invicta FC officials didn't want to go head-to-head with the UFC's Dec. 14 and Dec. 28 cards, so they opted for Dec. 7 so that they wouldn't have to vie for media attention.
"InvictaFC7 slated for December, more information coming soon," the promotion tweeted on Sept. 18, from its official Twitter handle.
Knapp made a similar tweet to fans who were asking when the next event will be.
"@brentonkiing @InvictaFights @pegson Invicta #7 will be in Dec. announcement coming soon," she wrote.
