The 2nd annual InvestMaryland Challenge which is a national business competition that funds Maryland start-ups and said to build up the climate of innovation and entrepreneurship in Maryland, kicked off via a video from Governor O'Malley on September 5, 2013.
Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development, in-conjunction with the Maryland Venture Fund and the BioMaryland Center, will grant $400,000 in top prizes for the innovational and entrepreneurial categories of General Industry, IT, Life Sciences, and a new Cybersecurity category. This competition also includes secondary prizes.
Look forward to the continued partnership between DBED and Inc. magazine which promotes the Challenge nationally. I attend last year’s awards celebration at MICA and it was an exciting and revolutionary event. The innovational theme of winners from last year had a focus on data analysis. The 2014 InvestMaryland Challenge is underway and the application period is open and will close December 6, 2013.
