Investigators looking into mysterious Morgan Hill death

Investigators with the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department are looking into a mysterious death that may or may not be related to a 911 call regarding shots fired in unincorporated Morgan Hill.

The 911 call came in at about 3 a.m. Sunday, authorities say. The caller reported hearing shots fired in the area of Oak Valley Road and Sheila Avenue.

Deputies responded to the area where they were alerted by an Oak Valley Road resident that there was an unconscious man inside his residence. The victim was not breathing when deputies arrived and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say they do not know if the victim was related to the initial 911 call and no further information is being released at this time, including the victim’s cause of death.
