Police continue to investigate the brutal murder of a 46-year-old San Jose woman whose body was found in a trash bag in Sunnyvale on June 5, 2011.

Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety officers were able to identify Maria Esther Orozco through her fingerprints a few days after she was found. Orozco, a long-time downtown San Jose resident, worked for 12 years as a janitor at HP Pavilion, according to the San Jose Mercury News. She had no family and San Jose police said she had not been reported missing.

Orozco's body was discovered by a resident in the 800 block of Ticonderoga Drive in Sunnyvale, who immediately called 911 to report the finding. Officers arrived on scene just after 10 a.m. to find blood seeping from a trash bag that had been placed in some bushes.

Sunnyvale investigators have determined that Orozco died of blunt force trauma to the head, but no suspects have been identified. Police are also at a loss for a possible motive for the slaying.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety at (408) 730-7110 or email svtip@tipnow.org.
