Intruders dressed as cops kill Detroit woman, wound child

The DPD is searching for three suspects who broke into a west side home Thursday morning, shooting a 35-year-old woman to death and seriously injuring her 12-year-old sister. It is the sixth time in recent weeks that crooks had posed as police officers while committing a crime.

The break-in occurred at a home in the 14200 block of Marlowe, just south of Lyndon Street.

Sources told WDIV-4 that the intruders first cut power to the house.

Then they banged on the door, shouting ‘Police!’

When the door opened the armed men charged in and quickly opened fire. The woman was fatally injured. The child was hit multiple times.

The 12-year-old is in temporary serious condition at Children’s Hospital.

There were four other females in the house, ages 6-22, but none were injured.

Further details are not yet available.

If you have any information about the shooting, please call Crime Stoppers at (800) SPEAK UP.
