Quilting is a traditional folk art that has been passed down for many generations. While quilting was once done entirely by hand, modern tools allow for quilts to be made using a machine! If you've ever wondered about quilting but weren't sure how to get started, there will be an introductory machine quilting class offered in Scottville, Michigan as part of the Mason County Central Schools continuing education class series.
Attendees of the class will make a pair of quilted pot holders. The one-night class will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Mason County Central High School in Scottville. The cost for the class is $12 plus a $10 supply fee, and students should bring a sewing machine, extension cord, and thread with them to class. The registration deadline for the class is April 18, 2011.
For more information or to register for the class, e-mail djones@mccschools.com or call 231-757-3471.
