A new company based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida offers firearms customizing especially geared towards women. The Examiner received an email on January 30, 2013 announcing Florida Discount Guns, Inc.’s introduction of PinkGun.com, which boasts the tagline, “Just because it’s concealed, doesn’t mean it has to be ugly.”
According to the website, Amber, a local resident who ordered a 9mm with skulls for home defense, reacts to the company’s services.
“I just think this is totally bada**; I’ve never seen anything like it. I really like the idea that I can personalize it to my tastes.”
The website features an interactive tool in which the consumer can pick a gun, then personalize it with various paint and patterns. While the company can be contacted to order specific guns, the three featured on the site for customization are the Ruger LCP .380, Smith & Wesson 642/442 .38, and the Sig Sauer 2022 9mm, all popular models among women.
There are 10 pattern selections available, as well as 10 different colors, making the possibilities endless. Every part of the gun can be customized, including, depending on the model chosen, the frame, slide, magazine, trigger, grip and hammer. If you already own a gun that you would like customized, Pink Gun offers that service as well.
In keeping with federal regulations, all guns are shipped to a local gun dealer or FFL.
Pink Gun can also be found on Facebook.
