Island Expeditions, just introduced their new all-inclusive Belize vacation package, the Coral Atoll and Maya Rainforest Adventure. The all-exclusive Belize excursion combines an out of the way reef experience on Lighthouse Reef Atoll, then journeys inland through the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary, the New River, and then to the ancient Mayan ruins of Lamanai.
The oldest protected marine reserve in Belize is Lighthouse Reef. It is well known for its plentiful marine life and flourishing coral formations. The area houses the Great Blue Hole, an underwater cave and sinkhole made famous by the legendary underwater explorer Jacques Cousteau. Situated in the southeast area of Lighthouse Reef, is Half Moon Caye. It is a national monument featuring pristine white-sand beaches including an amazing Red-Footed Booby Colony of some 4000 mating birds. An exclusive base camp has been set up in collaboration with Island Expeditions to provide guests with daily kayaking and snorkeling trips to the Blue Hole.
From there the journey proceeds inland to the Mayan ruins of Lamanai. The journey will guide guests through the wetlands of the New River to Crooked Tree life Sanctuary by way of boat. The sanctuary houses an impressive variety of birds and various other wildlife including the northern Jacanas and the Jabiru wading bird.
The cost of the Coral Atoll and Maya Rainforest trip is - 8 days/8 nights, $2,129. The trip includes accommodations, meals, professional guide, and a number of daily activities.
