Blizzard has released the intro cinematic for “StarCraft II”: Heart of the Swarm. The new content will be available March 12, 2013. It’s certainly about time; Blizzard has been dangling the promise of Heart of the Swarm in RTS fans noses for some time now.
The cinematic is breathtaking with fully rendered versions of everyone’s favorite Zerg and Terran units. Otherwise however, the cinematic reveals little more about the Heart of the Swarm other than a vague plot point about the ever so fierce Kerrigan. While the Queen of the Blades is looking as striking as ever she seems to have gotten herself into some sort of predicament.
The expansion brings new units for all the forces but will focus primarily on the Zerg. The short cinematic doesn't give away anything about the upcoming additions to the game. In fact it doesn't show the Protoss at all or any of the new units despite the new units having already been revealed in Beta. Watch the new cinematic for yourself and see what conclusions about the expansion Heart of the Swarm you can draw.
