Tell us a little bit about yourself, anything you’d like your readers to know:
I’ve been writing for 30 some odd years, but just recently had the guts to publish! I love talking to the characters in my head!

What made you do decide to become an author?
My mother actually. She always believed in me even though I never did. I just wish she was still here to see my success!

Who are your favorite authors, and how have they influenced your writing?
Lindsey McKenna. She’s an inspiration and broke ground for people like me.

Where can we find you online?

Tell us about your book!
Well, this latest one is the first book in a new fantasy series I’m coming out with. The series is Dragons, Griffons and Centaurs, Oh My! It introduces you to a world where all the mythical creatures you know and love – Dragons, Griffons, Centaurs, Unicorns and so on – have evolved along the same technological lines that Humans have. They have computers, office buildings, even a Starhucks chain where the locals can get whatever favorite drinks they might enjoy.

The blurb for Book 1 – To Light The Dragon’s Fire is:
Independent and feisty Terra Heegan is on the verge of sacrificing everything to save her family’s struggling trucking company. But, she wants one last hoorah before settling into a loveless marriage. With her sister, Lanni, Terra takes a trip into the Mountains of Wyoming to explore one of the few places left on Earth where adrenaline and wit are the only things that can keep her out of trouble…
Dragon King, Draven Taraxus, never wanted the crown. Born to a dying breed of Rulers, Draven has sat on the throne for the last 100 years, thanks to his father's impeachment. Boredom and stagnation have left his kingdom, and his heart, ripe for the picking by a power hungry evil that has spent the same amount of time plotting and scheming to take over.
Everything is in place. The pieces have all been set and all Evil needs is one last ingredient to rule everything. The love of a human with fire-red hair and silvery eyes that will…Light The Dragon’s Fire
It will be available June 15, 2014 at all the major eBook vendors!

Everyone has their idiosyncrasies, what’s yours?
Oh dear. Got about an hour???

I’m kidding. I guess my biggest one is my writing habits. I’m horrible for staying up until the wee-hours, with my headphones on and just typing away. It’s not wise to disturb me either. I tend to growl if I’m interrupted when I’m in that zone.

What’s your favorite book turned movie and why?
Well, it’s not really a book per say, but more of a fable. I absolutely LOVE the movie Ever After with Drew Berrymore. It’s a retelling of Cinderella and I know the story has been done a hundred times over and probably will forever – cause, well, it’s a good one – but I love this version!

What’s your favorite genre to read?
I go in moods. I like just about everything but YA and NA (Young Adult/New Adult) though I do have a few Authors that do that Genre well that I’ll read, just because it’s that author. But mostly I swing from one end of the pendulum to the other and it really just depends on my mood at the time.

Currently I’m reading a lot of Paranormal, Fantasy and Sci-Fi.

Which do you do more, read or write, and why?
I write more than I read these days, I really do. I’ve got a following now – somewhat, so I feel like I have to keep the content coming…

What is your writing process like, and what’s your favorite part of it?
My favorite part is just telling the story and being surprised by some of the things my characters end up doing. I generally don’t plot or plan, mainly because that takes the fun out of it for me, so I end up going along on the adventure and having just as much fun.
I do come up with the background world though. For DGC, I basically took our world, turned it on its head and then plopped every mythological creature you could think of into it. After that I figured out who lived where, what they were currently doing and how that connected to the world in general. From there I started writing the first book – I’m working on the second as we speak by the way – and it’s been one heck of a ride, let me tell you. Some of the crazy stuff Draven, Terra, Lanni and Arin put me through was such an emotional ride that I couldn’t stop until it was done!
