Interviewer says Yoko Ono talk at SXSW will be unpredictable

Jody Denberg, who has interviewed Yoko Ono on numerous occasions in the past and will interview her again in a featured event at this year's South By Southwest on March 18, told us he really can't guess where their conversation will go.

Though music, the focus on the conference, will certainly be discussed, he said, "I hope we will also be touching on Yoko’s films, and her interactivity – from her Twitter account and Imagine Peace website, to her Unfinished Music (especially all the #1 remixes of her work!).

"But it remains to be seen how the conversation will unfold …. the possibilities are endless."

We asked him if he was nervous about the upcoming interview.

"I’m a little nervous, but really just with anticipatory excitement about the event," he said. "After all, although I’ve interviewed Yoko about a dozen times, I’ve never done so in front of a live audience (and the auditorium holds 650 people who are coming from around the world for SXSW).

"It’s going to be fun!"

The interview with Denberg will take place at 11 a.m. March 18. Ono's performance at the Chimera Music Night at The Elysium, 705 Red River St., will be at 1 a.m. March 19. Performers will include the Ghost of a Saber Toothed Tiger, which includes her son, Sean Lennon.

It should make for an interesting weekend down in the Lone Star State.
