Q. I read that the series 'King of the Nerds' will be returning. On a scale of 1 to 10, how nerdy are you?

A. I’m not a contemporay sort of nerd type; if you have a type. I was definitely a nerd as a young guy because I was so obsessed with books. I spent the whole time in my room reading. I was a huge Star Trek fan. I went to the Star Trek convention held in Detroit; which was where I lived. I had nerd qualities in addition to the classic never being able to get a date thing. That was my childhood. It was total nerd-centric.

Q. Do you have any hidden talents?

A. I have to say when it comes to hobbies, books and records have been really it for me my whole life. The spare time that I have is spent listening to music or reading. Kinda boring.

Q. What music inspires you?

A. I’m a big fan of The Beatles, Harry Nilsson, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, the Kinks, that’s just the first ones off the top of my head. It’s all old school.
