Many love Rachel Miner from her memorable role as Charlie’s edgy secretary Dani in Showtime's ‘Californication.’ However, she is best known as the bad-ass demon Meg from ‘Supernatural.’ After seven episodes as the delicious demon Meg this beautiful and talented actress speaks highly of the ‘Supernatural’ fans.
Q. I was a big fan of the first two seasons of secretary (in Showtime's ‘Californication’ and loved your role as Charlie’s secretary Dani. What was it like working with the ‘Californication’ crew?
A. First of all, thank you I truly appreciate your saying that. Secondly, the people on that set were lovely. Funny, I find myself trying to figure out how to put this because, I in no way want to insult or take away from how much I liked the individuals I worked with on Californication. Yet at the same time I feel it is important to get across the fact that working with the crew on ‘Supernatural’ has been a uniquely warm experience. I suppose it is like having to describe past loves, there are different qualities to appreciate in each and praising one doesn't compromise ones positive feelings toward another. I do want to acknowledge the hair and make-up department on ‘Californication’, particularly David Forrest and Marie-Ange Ripka who really created the looks, for my character Dani, upon which the impact of that role was entirely dependent (I think more so then anything I brought to the table).
Q. Do you have any hidden talents of hobbies?
A. Offhand I can't think of any hidden talents, I do love to try many things, but by my assessment, I am not uniquely talented at any of them. As for hobbies, I have many, but most especially, I love to read, watch documentaries and go on study tangents (you name the subject, I just love finding out about it).
Side note: On the subject of hidden talents, I have been, very much, impressed with the talents of so many ‘Supernatural’ watchers! Having had the chance to see some of the work (Video edits, writings, drawing etc), I am humbled by the extent of artistic ability present.
Q. I'm going to end with what's become my signature question. If you were a baseball player, what would your walk up song be? What song pumps you up and inspires you?
A. I am feeling a bit uncool (not an unfamiliar feeling to me), I should have an awesome, straightforward answer to this signature question, but I really don’t.
I have truly eclectic taste in music and I seem to cycle through phases in terms of to what's inspiring me. I'll go from Beethoven to Sigur Ros; World Music, Brit-pop, Classic Rock, Blues/Jazz, even the odd bit of Heavy metal.
