"I was a guest speaker in Professor Lee Bushong's forensic class at FGCU.
There I discussed, simultaneously, the actual court case and the making of the movie 'The Coverup' (2008)." The film is based on that case."
Pepper's talk went well, and there was good student partcipation.
"There were about 35 students, and they had many questions.
I think all agreed that Kevin Thacker, [pertaining to the case and film 'The Coverup'], was killed in the alley by the cop, and he was never on the roof.
I asked the class to write a letter to the Department of Justice in hopes that the investgation into the young man's death would be reopened."
Immediately following Pepper's talk at the university he attended a meeting and was part of another film project at UFTA. Pepper is the UFTA Vice President, and he, with other UFTA officers and members, read for the film "Casting."
"Yes, from FGCU I went to The Alliance for the Arts and took part in a film reading. The reading was for a short film comprised of documentary and comedy genres. There was not full attendance, so I had to read multiple parts, although one role seemed to be best suited for me."
Apparently there are plans for this new film, currently in pre-production.
Either way, the film should begin production soon here in SW Florida. Being part of filmmaking myself I realize how involved the process, rather processes, are!"
Sounds like Stu Pepper had a busy day, and we thank him for taking the time to share his recent experiences all related to the two films, "The Coverup" and "Casting." Pepper has other films under his belt, as well, but those are yet other stories!
By the way, Stu Pepper, too, is no stranger to the media, and thus more articles can be found on him at Examiner.com. For one of those articles go to "Stu Pepper shares behind-the-scenes of 'Dr. Phil Show'." For additional stories go to a variety of links related to Pepper and UFTA.
Enjoy trailer on "The Coverup," although consider the scenario depicted and the "real truth" as well!
