I recently interviewed Rob Trimarco at Pantheon Press, a New York-based independent publisher of games and gaming supplements. Their setting, Nobis, is nominated for a Best Supplement ENnie. Pantheon Press is committed to creating RPG materials that are innovative, thoughtful, and most of all fun!
Michael Tresca: Tell us about Nobis.
Rob Trimarco: Nobis: The City-States is a campaign setting supplement for D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder. The supplement features gorgeous artwork, detailed maps, and everything a group will need to play in the carefully crafted world of Nobis.
MT: How is Nobis different from other 3.5 settings?
RT: Nobis: The City-States introduces several fun ideas:
- Mongrels: A new player-character race that are gnolls outcast from their own society.
- Black powder firearms
- A system for measuring social status within the world
- A well-balanced, exciting system for fencers and fencing that includes a wide array of fencing moves and feats!
MT: What type of player will enjoy Nobis?
RT: Nobis: The City-States will appeal to a broad range of RPG player. Our ideal audience is a traditional D&D group looking for a twist!
MT: What's coming next from Pantheon Press?
RT: Pantheon Press is thrilled to announce the completion of Fortune’s Fool! Set in a fantasy version of Renaissance Europe, Fortune’s Fool is a bold new role-playing system that uses the Tarot Deck instead of dice. Cross swords in the streets of Paris or cast spells along the canals of Venice. Whatever the adventure, your fate is in the cards!
