Cendrine Marrouat: How challenging is it for an unfunded startup like yours to successfully reach people online? In other words, how have you used social media to create a buzz about Infostripe?

Harold Fudge: We use Facebook to link stories, post updates and feature screenshots of some of our favorite Infostripes, its also been a great source of feedback. Twitter is currently our most integrated platform where we communicate all updates big and small. We enjoy retweeting and promoting new and fun Infostripes as they are created and generally try to help people see how Infostripe is being used. We will often fix small issues on Infostripes as we see them and reach out on Twitter to the owners.  Beyond that we have experimented with reaching new users through Empire Avenue, Klout and Linkedin. And while we’ve reached out to bloggers and journalists we also try to engage new users directly and comment on relevant stories people are sharing online. You can find all of our social media network links on our home page, including our new blog

CM: Infostripe has been in public beta since March 2011. What is next?

HF: There is a list of items that we would like to complete before the end of the beta, most are small items and fixes but a few are things that should help with usability and add more fun. Beyond that, there is a list of post beta features we are working on that includes faster sign ups with existing network accounts, polls, iframe use, control of icon and panel order, analytics, micro blogs and revenue models that include ad sharing with Infostripe owners, those items are among the many things we are working on for later this year. Also this fall we will be coming full circle and returning to the iPhone with a native application and updating our Android application to 2.0. It has been a fast few months and as we grow we are putting our heads down and working on building the fundamental things that will, in our vision and passion, make Infostripe a permanent part of the Internet.

CM: Any last words?

HF: We are really excited about this project and its potential to reach and help as many people as we can. It’s an easy process to create and broadcast a new or updated Infostripe from any device. Making the content instantly accessible and recognizable across the web. Beyond being a resourceful  page of links and information, we are working to make every Infostripe a communication conduit and page of authority on whatever its subject happens to be. We are excited to grow over the coming months as the mobile Internet continues to mature and expand. We want to thank you for the opportunity to communicate what Infostripe is to us and welcome everyone to come try it out.
