We had the privilege to have a few minutes of Frank Cho’s time to talk to him about what we can expect coming from his artist desk in the coming year.
For those who are not familiar with Frank Cho, he is best known for his work on Liberty Meadows, Shanna the She-Devil, the Hulk, Jungle Girl and more recently New Ultimates and X-men: Schism. He has won several awards including the 2001 National Cartoonists Society’s award for best comic book and best book illustration.
We asked Frank, what projects are you currently working on?
“Liberty Meadows, Guns and Dinos, which I am still working on and Zombie King, that’s my creator stuff.” Frank continued “I am currently under contract with Marvel doing Avengers vs. X-men prologue. After that I am doing a 6 issue big story art, for a book I can’t announce until Marvel announces it. I will be writing and drawing it.”
We then talked about Frank’s original creation, Liberty Meadows.
“With Liberty Meadows I’m going to finishing that off. The Sunday question book is coming out once I turn in my cover and turn in my layouts.”
Frank continued on about other projects he is working on. “With Guns and Dinos, which I am very late with that, you know Marvel came with that Avengers vs. X-men thing and that is why Guns and Dinos got pushed back. And Zombie King, we have a big announcement. You know we can’t say anything yet but it might become something else, beyond comics.”
This could be the movie version of Zombie King that was put on hold after the recession hit.
