This afternoon, prior to the airing of this week’s episode of “Log On & Eat with Eden Grinshpan,” this Examiner had the opportunity to speak with this adorable addition to the Cooking Channel lineup.
How are you today, Eden?
I am very well, thank you, Diane. How are you doing?
I am well and very excited to speak with you today. Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk to me.
I wonder how you stay so thin, while making and eating so many yummy things?
I have actually been walking and trying to live moderately when not shooting. People put so much love into their food, that I just have to enjoy it all. When I’m not shooting, I love yoga and working out.
Please tell me what is new in the food industry that has the Internet buzzing.
I feel like so much is happening. The Internet is such a hot place to be. In my NY neighborhood, there are so many cool new hip restaurants, there are always so many cool new restaurants popping up, and it is so easy to learn about what is happening in the culinary world through the web. I always use my bloggers, tweeters and Instagramers as my sources of what is hot, where I need to eat and what I need to try.
Is there anything that you will not eat?
I am all about trying something. I'm not a “never again” type of person. However, growing up I was the pickiest eater ever! My parents are still in awe of my passion. Is there anything you won’t eat?
I will not eat liver; I have bad memories of it from childhood.
Diane, trust me, that is probably because it was overcooked. I did not like it either when I was younger. Give it a try again, if cooked properly, you should enjoy it.
I will give it a try, thanks Eden. I love your new show concept.
Have you had a chance to see it yet?
Yes, the first show was a trip, I loved Eggslut, the name just cracked me up!
Yes, the name is a riot and the Foodie Girls were so much fun to be with.
I love how you bond immediately with the people you visit with!
Well, these people are just genuine people who love food and want to share their experiences with the world. The Internet is such a great place to be now, and the food bloggers are awesome people.
Who was your biggest inspiration growing up?
My parents were so supportive, and my sisters were very encouraging. I have two sisters, one older and one younger who always encouraged me to follow whatever path in life I led. Outside the family, Rachel Ray is a huge inspiration for me to get in the kitchen, she always made cooking so accessible and fun, which made me feel like i could be a great cook, that was the beginning of my culinary adventure.and inspired my love for food. As a home cook, she turned this love into an empire.
Any last words before we end this interview?
Just happy to introduce viewers to meet the bloggers and people who are passionate friends, food is such a great connector of people.
