What lead you into coaching soccer?
Brandon Mitalas’ dad, Teddy, greatly influenced his son’s launch into coaching. Mitalas’ first real coaching exposure came about when he stood in for his dad coaching the Sounders Women on a three game Colorado road trip in May 2007. This opportunity and exposure made him realize coaching soccer is how he wanted to spend his time. Mitalas has since turned his love of coaching soccer into a career.
Mitalas has some lofty goals for himself. He currently coaches for Seattle United Youth Soccer Club and is the men’s head coach at Edmonds Community College. He just completed his USSF ‘B’ license course. His goals include coaching for a NCAA school and in the professional ranks. Mitalas stated his ultimate goal is to be, “coaching for a team in the 2030 World Cup.” He’s on the right path to achieve his goals and it’ll be interesting to track his future progress.
