Interview with Doug Matheson, author of "Actually Thinking vs. Just Believing"

Bernie Dehler conducted a webcast interview with Doug Matheson, the author of "Actually Thinking vs. Just Believing." It is now available for free online viewing here: http://tinyurl.com/loxuz69 .

A witch doctor is not a real doctor.
B. Dehler

Both Bernie and Doug are now atheists and former Christians. Doug spent time in Africa as a missionary. He spoke about one of his encounters with a medical doctor that believed in voodoo and hexes, and the medical doctor felt powerless against such tactics. Doug challenged him to have a witch doctor cast a hex to see if it would hurt Doug. At first the medical doctor thought he could never request such a thing from a witch doctor; but when pressed and the medical doctor thought about it more, he considered that the hex would have no effect on Doug because Doug didn't believe in it. That would be a classic "ah ha!" moment. Africa is awash in religious superstition.
