Interview With BuffBlogger

If you are interested in fitness and entertainment you should take a look at BuffBlogger.com. Buff shares insight into his daily life and focuses a lot on his workout regimen. He does so in a fun way.

Unlike other workout enthusiasts, you can see that he has more of a life than just being in the gym and getting bigger.

Well, maybe he does stay in the gym a lot but you can tell he has a fun time when he's in there. How can you tell? He lists Beavis And Butt-head as one of his favorite shows. You might remember them making a mockery of lifting weights as well as laughing at those who grunted while they lifted heavy.

On the opposite end of the world's smallest "cool" duo is professional wrestling, where everybody who doesn't either tip the scales at over 300 pounds or have a six-pack is unemployed. Buff is a big fan of wrestling too as evidenced by his collection of pictures with wrestlers displayed on his website.

Buff was nice enough to answer some questions on fitness, wrestling, and his blog. Here's what he had to say:

1. Your fitness accomplishments are quite impressive. Why did you want to get in such good shape?

First, thanks for the opportunity to answer some questions. I always love to share information that someone else might find useful or entertaining. The decision I made to start getting into shape really had a lot to do with changing my lifestyle.

Something a lot of people dont know about BuffBlogger is that he used to be the skinny kid in school who partied like a rockstar. I spent a lot of my life putting terrible things into my body and really had no idea what it was like to live a clean, healthy lifestyle. Once I got my first taste of the bodybuilder lifestyle in my high school weights class I never looked back.

Basically I stay in shape because it makes me feel good. Also, the discipline required has carried over into a lot of areas in my life resulting in some great success.

2. Your blog is entertaining. What made you want to blog about your life and fitness accomplishments?

I'm glad someone thinks it's entertaining. I decided to start the blog because I felt like there was an opportunity out there for a fitness blog that was informative and entertaining. Most sites that you see are always filled with the same old stuff (athletes endorsing stuff they dont use, mundane fitness videos, etc.) and I thought that if you just mixed in some simple internet/Youtube-style humor and kept it simple that people would enjoy it.

Not to mention that I've been training in the gym for ten straight years now and have learned a lot of stuff that others might find useful. I've discovered over the years that about 99% of the world has no idea what to do when it comes to working out and using supplements, so I figured that I had something to offer to the fitness scene.

3. You seem to be a big wrestling fan. Can you list the five most impressive physiques you've seen in the wrestling world?

Uh oh, you caught me, yes I've been a fan of pro wrestling my whole life. I must admit that this is possibly the best question I've ever been asked. When you've been a fan as long as me there's a lot of thought that goes into all the possible answers.

I'll start off the list with someone that everyone will know because the rest of my picks will be names only a hardcore wrestling fan would know, so number five would be John Cena. I know Cena has a bodybuilding background and it's amazing to me how he continuously stays in amazing shape while being in the top spot in wrestling.

Number 4-Scott Steiner. This is a guy who obviously spent more time on his body than learning how to wrestle, but when it comes to biceps it's hard to think of many guys who had better.

Number 3-Rick Rude. Obviously not the biggest guy on the list. However, his cuts and symmetry were insane at the time. Also it's a look that I'd say most closely resembles my own physique.

Number 2-Ultimate Warrior. When the Warrior hit the wrestling scene back in the mid to late 80's he was so jacked he probably could've competed on a bodybuilding stage and won.

Number 1-The Warlord. I think the only word you could use to best describe him is MONSTER. Billed at 6'5" and 325 pounds, even if that's off by a few inches & pounds, to me it's crazy just to look at all that size. Bottom line, I'm a big fan of the crazy, freaky sized guys that I could never look like.

4. Who have been the nicest celebrities you've met?

Well, as you may have guessed most of the celebs that I've met have been pro wrestlers and yes, I've met tons of them. Most of them are nice, especially if it's at a sanctioned autograph signing.

Most memorable would have to be Stone Cold Steve Austin. I met him at the W hotel in New York. I was a finalist in a WWE biggest fan competition that he was a judge in.

The crowd had just booed my ass outta the building for the fan video I made but he put a great spin on it saying that getting heat like that can be a good thing. Originally he wanted to be the biggest heel (bad guy) in wrestling and those boos eventually turned him into the biggest face (good guy) ever.

Another would have to be Hillbilly Jim. I met him while I was working at a mall. He was doing promo work for their WWE's road to Wrestlemania. He literally hung out at the store with me for like an hour and just talked old wrestling and stuff. Honestly just one of the nicest guys I've ever met, I'll never forget it.

5. Do you get good feedback from the blog? What are your future goals with the blog?

When I do get feedback it is honestly really rewarding. The way I look at it is I'm just throwing stuff out there that comes to my head and sometimes it really connects with people. To me, that's what's important. If I can make a silly video or post something that came to me and it helps someone learn something new or get inspired then it's worth it to me.

At the moment my goals for the site are just to keep it going and keep it entertaining. I'd also love to keep growing my audience for my internet talk show, "Buff Talk." Honestly I'm always working on a new project for the site and I'm just excited to share my experiences with everyone for years to come.

Thanks a lot. Buff seems to be a very nice and easy going guy. Very good that he is into fitness and also personable. Great to know that he likes wrestling and the sport of bodybuilding. Like him, I love the guys who are larger than life. Not many can reach their great levels of size and still be shredded.
