Cendrine Marrouat: What are some of the words / quotes you live by?
Celestine McMullen Allen: The first quote that shaped my life is “That we are all suited by nature for a certain type of work, and that when we find that niche, hard work is not hard work anymore.” I don’t know the author, but the quote helped to determine my professional career aspirations. My work ultimately related to utilizing my inherent skills in my professional development.
The second mantra is not a quote, but more of a philosophy – “that we have to be true to ourselves. Otherwise, we live a lie.”
Thirdly, I feel that, “we have to get through, past, and beyond hurt. Otherwise, it is a yoke that can have detrimental effects on the person that we were born to be”.
The final one is that we have to understand the influence of nature – the moon, the stars, the ebb and flow of the water, the seasons, sunrises and sunsets, and the impact that nature has in our parallel existence.
CM: What is next for you ?
CMMA: I am going to keep doing everything that I can to promote my book, for I truly feel that there is a universal message in my collection. I have other projects that I have started – new collections of poetry as well as ideas and research for a book that I want to write. I also have dreams of writing lyrics and a script for a play or movie. One thing I truly realized with the publication of my first book, that these efforts take a considerable amount of time. Right now, I am working and trying to position myself to be able to accomplish these goals without worrying about the financial considerations. I just want to continue to write
CM: Where can people find more about you and your book?
CMMA: My book, “Voice From the Soul of Trees” can be found on Amazon and other online bookstores. I have a blog called My Pecan Tree. I invite all to visit the site, post a comment, post a poem, and post a comment on anything poetic.
CM: Any last words?
CMMA: Thanks for this opportunity to share my voice to your reading audience. Upon reflection, it is interesting how our paths crossed through the phenomena of social media. It connects people who may never become acquainted. I feel that our meeting is not mere circumstance.
End of the interview.
