This weekend at the Berwyn Eagles Club in Berwyn,IL, wrestling fans can take in one of the most unique and entertaining wrestling shows, SHIMMER Women’s Athletes. The all-women promotion which is an affiliate of Ring of Honor Wrestling, has been giving the best independent female talent in the world a platform to shine for years. These are no “Divas” or even “Knockouts”, these are arguably the best female pro wrestlers.
Dave Prazak who fans may know as the color commentator of Ring of Honor, is the brains behind SHIMMER and founded the alternative promotion with respected wrestler, Allison Danger. He answered our questions in this exclusive interview.

PWE: Besides giving American female wrestlers a big stage to perform on, SHIMMER has also been able to bring in critically acclaimed International talent. Saraya and Britani Knight from the UK are coming to SHIMMER this weekend, tell us about them and what they bring to the show
Prazak: The Knight Dynasty is a very unique addition to the tag team division in SHIMMER. Not only are the only British duo, but they are also a mother and daughter tag team. Saraya is a 20 year veteran of the ring, and Britani, who began training at 13 and just recently turned 18, is pegged as a potential star worldwide during the years to come.
PWE: You have two days worth of wrestling for fans at the Berwyn Eagles Club. What match ups this weekend are 'must see'?
Prazak: Already announced for Saturday's taping is a battle of two of the best athletes in Japan, Ayako Hamada vs. Ayumi Kurihara. Both are know for delivering high impact main events around the world, and this Saturday in Berwyn should be no different.
PWE: How has SHIMMER grown since it started?
Prazak: Over the past five and a half years, due to word of mouth, SHIMMER has been able to attract a following all around the world. Our DVD series is readily available to any wrestling fan, be it in Japan, Australia, Canada, throughout Europe, or right here in the USA. As we have a global feel to the talent roster, that has also helped attract new fans in different parts of the world.
PWE: If someone has never seen SHIMMER what can they expect?
Prazak: SHIMMER is a wrestling show unlike any other, in that we feature over 30 of the top female wrestlers from around the world, and put the emphasis on their wrestling skills, rather than their looks. Bottom line, the SHIMMER women can deliver fantastic matches inside the ring for fans of hard hitting professional wrestling.
