Interview: Jimmy Carter calls out Obama for never calling him

Every American president since 1981 has contacted Jimmy Cater for his opinions and advice. That is, every American president since 1981 with the notable exception of Barack Obama, as reported by the right-of-center news portal on March 21, 2014.

In a yet to be televised interview with Andrea Mitchell of NBC's Meet The Press that is scheduled to air Sunday, March 23, 2014, Carter went public in the knowledge that all his predecessors, with the exception of the current resident of the Oval Office, have made a point of seeking him out particularly when it came to dealing with "unsavory characters."

When asked by Mitchell if he had the type of relationship with Obama in which Carter's experience was sought out and if Obama ever called him, the Georgia Democrat flatly responded "unfortunately, the answer's no."

The former peanut farmer further intimated that Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush and "even Ronald Reagan" but not so much with Obama.

When Mitchell pressed on as to why he thought no such relationship between the two existed, Carter initially attempted to laugh it off, yet eventually admitted that was a particularly "hard question" to answer "with complete candor."

Possibly saying more than he intended, Carter attempted to put the topic to bed when he stated:

I think the problem was that — in dealing with the issue of peace in between Israel and Egypt — the Carter Center has taken a very strong and public position of equal treatment between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

And I think this was a sensitive area in which the president didn't want to be involved.

Forgotten by liberals and buried by their allies in the press, Carter famously referred to Obama as a "black boy" prior to assuming office in 2009 (video here).
