Music has the ability to alter one's mood, there's no question about it. That is why musicians are a huge influence in today's society.
In a recent interview with reporting writer, Misty Chalmers, recording artist, Daniel Wesley claims his music(for the most part) is "about escapism"...suiting, given the interview was held at the Red Truck Beer Co. brewery in North Vancouver. The entire interview was filmed for a future webseries to be announced in the coming month.
The cameras rolled as Daniel and Misty were led through the brewery and educated on the beer making process by Sam Payne from Red Truck Beer Co.
As the deliciously informative tour came to a close, cold frothy beer in hand, Daniel was sporting a brand new Red Truck Beer Co. baseball cap and Misty was the proud new owner of a 2014 Greater Vancouver Firefighters Hall of Flame calendar.
Thanks to Sam, it was the perfect prelude and location for the interview.
Daniel had some really great stories to share but unfortunately, not all of them made it to print. Stay tuned and subscribe to this page for upcoming announcements on when and where to watch this exciting new webseries about the Vancouver entertainment industry.
MC: So, you have your new show coming up...tell me about it.
DW: In White Rock.
MC: Your hometown.
DW: That's where I was born.
MC: Oh, that's not where you grew up?
DW: 'Til I was about 5(years old)...then I moved to Langley where I grew up. Yeah, I'd get booked for all these shows and stuff and it's fun, always awesome to be a part of cool events. I was putting on a lot of shows in Langley, a lot of events and I was having a lot of fun doing it and. I thought I'd like to do an event, a yearly event in the valley starting in White Rock. Nobody really ventures outside of Vancouver, to like say, White Rock or Abbotsford to play...or at least very often anyway. This will be the first year I'm doing it(Rock the Valley) and I've got a really great band to play with me called The Boom Booms and this year, we're gonna be at the Star of the Sea in White Rock(on September 21, 2013). Next year I'd kinda like to build it up to a 1500 person, outdoor (venue).
MC: The Boom Booms were with you at (104.3 FM the Shore's) Shorefest, weren't they?
DW: Ya, we've met before at a couple of shows across the country and they're really nice guys and I thought about them right away just 'cuz they're such a high energy band and just a lot of fun.
