Interview: Bucky Covington talks about new song and he addresses his fans

On Feb. 14, “American Idol” alum and country singer Bucky Covington chatted via telephone about his new song “Drinking Side of Country,” which he recorded as a duet with Shooter Jennings and he spoke about his country fans. “I met Shooter six years ago and he is a cool guy. I reached out to him and I hung out with him and we recorded it and we filmed a video for it,” he said.

In addition to Shooter, Bucky revealed that he would love to someday record duets with Kellie Pickler, Lee Ann Womack and Patty Loveless. “These are all great choices,” he said with a laugh and noted that he is a huge fan of these female country songstresses.

He released his latest CD “Good Guys” on Sept. 11 and a portion of the first week sales went towards “Help the Good Guys,” as well as the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) charitable foundation.

Bucky shared his gratitude and appreciation towards his fans. “I am trying to get better at Facebook but I am networking with my fans on Twitter. God bless the fans. We are looking for a big year this year and we are looking forward to a great time. We will put out a lot of entertainment for you. Thank you for sticking with us over the years,” he concluded.
