We had the pleasure to speak with actor Justin Little earlier tonight. He has two films scheduled for release in 2014 and 2015. Enjoy!
One of the first things that you mentioned when we started talking tonight was how grateful you were to the man who brought acting into your life. This was your drama teacher, correct?
Mr. Koven introduced me to a whole new world, especially being a little, skinny, late-bloomer teenager. Definitely not suitable for sports. I remember how excited I was to be going to my next drama class because I knew that something new and amazing was going to happen within myself or the class. I pretty much found myself through drama! Being up on stage was such a visceral feeling. There are a few projects that I will be acting in this Spring and Summer and I will surely dedicate these performances to Mr. Koven and also to a very special friend of mine who passed away over a year ago, who shared those wonderful high school drama days with me "Harold Armstrong". I think about him often.
Tell me about your dream role.
Ummm, it is not so much a dream role but... someone I would love... to work with (and that's) Daniel Day Lewis or River Phoenix, if he were alive today. They would teach me more about life and acting than anyone.
You're a very passionate man. What do you most enjoy about being an actor?
It's funny because people tell me that I am passionate and sometimes intense. But. the only time I really feel that I have those feelings is when I am engrossed in a role. Nonetheless, I do believe passion is one of the biggest driving forces for an actor. I have a lot of stuff I want to get out.
If i wasn't able to act I don't think I would be a very nice person to be around.
Justin Little
LOL, I really do enjoy the prep physically and mentally, it's fun to be creative.
How do you otherwise support yourself?
I wish I could say that acting pays the bills, but it doesn't yet. I am an Optician. So, I get to meet interesting people and stare into (their) eyes. I have done every job under the sun.
Is there anything else that you'd like for your fans to know about you, other than, you're a really nice guy!??
LOL. Aahh, let's see. You know, I really want to inspire people hopefully, through some great roles and projects. I mean, life is very short. I don't think we realize it sometimes, but it is. So, why not give it a try, whatever your passion. I don't want to look back one day when I'm older and be this pessimistic grouch because I didn't live for my dream.
Very nice! Thanks so much for your time. It's been a pleasure Justin.
