Two prominent governmental agencies have now officially warned of possible terrorist attacks based on the Koran burning event planned by a local Florida church.  The warnings come on the heels of comments from President Obama, who urged the local Florida pastor to cancel the rally and stated that the event could be a "bonanza" for al-Queda.  Last week, General Patreaus warned that the burning of the Koran could endanger the lives of Untied States troops abroad.  It turns out the threat emerging from the Koran burning may extend beyond the military realm.

The first new warning come from Interpol, the international police agency.  Intepol warned governments around the world of possible terror attacks if the Florida pastor follows through with his Burn Koran rally.  Using strong language, Interpol stated that "There is a strong likelihood that violent attacks on innocent people would follow."

The second warning came from the State Department who said there was a "high" risk for terror attacks related to the Koran burning.  The State Department also noted that a number of high-profile protests have already taken place related to the attack, and that some of these protests could eventually turn violent.

Despite numerous objections to the rally and the trouble it may cause, Pastor Terry Jones of the Dove World Outreach Center has said he and his congregation still plan on moving forward.  The Fire Department has denied the church a permit to burn the Koran, but Jones has said his lawyers advised him that his First Amendment rights entitle him to go ahead with the event.

If muslims react violently to the koran burning, they are simply proving the Florida Pastor to be right!!!

A woman is about to be STONED to death in Iran for accused adultry, where is the media outrage to save her life from their barbaric islamic laws?

Despite over 70% of Americans opposing the imam rauf he stated muslims around the world would react violently if the ground zero islamic center was moved, and they are upset a Pastor in Floirda is burning the koran???

You want America to be tolerant, which we are as there are MANY mosques in EVERY state, WHY NOT BUILD AN INTERFAITH CENTER IN SAUDI ARABIA and STOP BEHEADING CHRISTIAN CONVERTS THERE???

SO MANY in the media are TERRIFIED to speak out against islam…

The fact of the matter is, if SO MANY are TERRIFIED of the koran, that is PROOF POSITIVE that people should burn it…

Beheadings, Stonings, Suicide Bombers, muslims and the mainstream media have a lot of work to do before saying that the koran burning event in Florida is evil, that is certainly the pot calling the kettle black and Americans ARE SICK OF IT!!!

EXACTLY! Every time WE speak of the violence of Islam WE are denigrated. EVERY time Islam is shown in any light except the best, what is their reaction? THREAT OF VIOLENCE!

As you say, it just proves that we are right about Islam.

Ideally we will continue living our lives the American way and defending our freedoms for everyone in the U.S.... NOT doing the same thing that repressive regimes do!

If you want the U.S. to become a land of extremists and terrorists, all you have to do is follow the example of Terry Jones and support him. He is no better than any other terrorist in the world.

So many bigots so afraid of a book they've never even read - and cultures they've never encountered.

They would be very surprised to find out what is in the Quran. Any religious text can be abused and twisted to suit an agenda of terrorism, including the bible. Mother Teresa and Hitler read the same New Testament.

The way it looks we are headed for WW3 Islam vs. Non-Islam. If burning a koran brings in on faster so be it, Islam has shown itself to be nothing more than a horrible murderous religion- no matter what angle you look at it from, Why do you think everyone is so afraid to say that. Do you really think that if we ignore that it will be peaceful- fat chance

Kacem is a Moroccan blogger and activist whose website, Bahmout, displays a banner that reads: “I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll fight for your right to say it,” quoting French philosopher Voltaire. Kacem, who says he “blogs for change” is indeed the kind of blogger who speaks his mind openly, making his atheism the central theme of his provocative, sometimes controversial writings. Earlier this month the blogger says he received death treats on his Facebook inbox. Although this isn't the first time Kacem receives threatening missives, the message this time around, he says, is a matter for serious concern. He explains:

I have received two messages on my Facebook inbox, in the first message, the sender threatened of slaughtering me like sheep being slain! in the second message titled ” an appointment” , the sender says to me : “we shall meet at Elhajeb where murdering you is going to take a place!” Elhajeb, however, 15 km away from my village, is the nearest place which i often go to every now and then! This points out that the terrorist exerted extra efforts to find out my location!

    peaceful not.
