And so it happens that too many dogs like Kyra, a one-year-old Labrador retriever mix and Delaware, an eight-month-old pit bull mix find themselves at county animal shelters through no fault of their own. Finding companionship with each other reminds us of the incredibly strong emotional bonds these beautiful living creatures need. And when their photos went viral as they wrapped their paws around each other while they slept, their story touched our hearts throughout the country and beyond.
And then came the happy announcement:
"This is a very happy day here at Fulton County Animal Shelter," came the announcement on Facebook. "They are going to be very spoiled babies! So many people have been fighting for these two and it has paid off. Sharing saves lives... Happy tails, sweet girls!"
Still the two dogs whose photos were just as popular have yet to find homes, so here we go again with hopes that everyone will share these photos and their stories to help the other half of the "Fab Four" find their perfect homes also.
They do not need to go together. They have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and treated with flea and heartworm preventative. Their fame has dwindled, but their need to find homes has not. . Their information is included here along with contact information for the shelter. Please help to find these beautiful dogs a place to call their own.
