Meeting for the seventh time in their professional tennis careers, Serena Williams and Sara Errani collide in the finals of the Italian Open (Rome 2014) Sunday morning. According to a May 17 Boston Herald report, this women’s singles championship match will be televised on Tennis Channel and streaming live at Tennis Channel Live Stream page (online).

Center Court at the Foro Italico in Rome, Italy, will be the site for the 70th edition of this tournament’s final round. All the action gets underway beginning at 7:30 a.m. ET (6:30 a.m. CT/5:30 a.m. CT/4:30 a.m. PT), and the 10th-seeded Italian will be looking for her first win over the world’s top-ranked American.

For Serena Williams, the defending Internazionali BNL d'Italia champion looks to improve to 7-0 in her head-to-head series against the hometown favorite. As ESPN reported on May 17, 2014, the 17-time Grand Slam champ was able to overcome a lackluster second round in the tournament semifinals.

Trying to avenge a loss to Ana Ivanovic at this year’s Australian Open, Williams eliminated the former world No.1 by a final score of 6-1, 3-6, 6-1. After winning the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in 2002 and again last year, Serena will be looking to complete the hat trick in the Italian capital.

For Sara Errani, a May 17 report states that the 27-year-old from Bologna is the first Italian player in almost three decades to reach the finals of this tournament. The 2012 French Open runner-up defeated Jelena Jankovic in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5.

Does the Italian have any chance of beating the world’s best player? If Internazionali BNL d'Italia oddsmakers are correct, Williams should capture her third title unscathed. The latest tennis odds show that Serena Williams is a -1000 betting favorite against Sara Errani [+700], while the OVER/UNDER equals just 18 games.
