It sounds very exciting to have contemporary guitarists from around the globe together for an evening here in southern California. That will be happening on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 8pm at the Soka Performing Arts Center in Aliso Viejo. Brian Gore who is described as the American "guitar poet" will be joined by Italy's Pino Forasteire, England's Mike Dawes and Argentina's Quique Sinesi.
Dawes and Forasteire have been known for using a mix of improvisation, melody and hand percussion using the strings, fretboard and the body of the guitar. The South American Sinesi is a master of South American melodies and rhythms on guitar and charango. You can contact the box office for tickets at 949-480-4278. You can come early for dinner as the Soka Bistro is open for dinner from 5:30pm to 7:00pm, Monday though Friday and the price is right too, only $10.75 for an all you can eat buffet. The address is Soka University, 1 University Drive, Aliso Viejo, California 92656. Their website is http://www.performingarts.soka.edu.
