Somehow a “fashion week or event” wouldn’t be right if there wasn’t the pervasive, recognizable and ubiquitous presence of one of fashion’s great personages! I speak of Diane Pernet in her black floor length garb, a slash of red lipstick and of course her custom made Ozona shades. She might be the 21st century muse of fashion or per chance she is the voice of fashion if you are a follower of ASVOF or have ever been on the internet!
After leaving her eponymous designer business behind in New York City she fled to Paris and during her 20 year residency in Paris she has become a huge voice of fashion as well as for documentary film, her film festivals are internationally known and her stardom, so to speak, spans continents. Her image is the subject of countless works of art and her mere presence at an event is a sign of success and acceptance.
Today, we have the opportunity to delve into the person and not just the image or countenance most know. It is my pleasure and honor to introduce you to someone whose contribution to the world of fashion will be remembered for ages to come... and yes, of course, so her “recognition factor” will register off the charts when it comes to the “fashion hall of fame”... that is of course if there is a such a thing ..
