Jan 20, 2013 is the wheelchair user owner owned enterprise 3eLove's fourth annual International Day of Acceptance. It was started in honor of the passing of 3eLove’s founder Annie Hopkins (1984-2009). Her brother, Stevie Hopkins, continued what his sister started. According to him, the goal of the day is to encourage all people with disabilities to realize that they are "a person with social rights, who has an opinion, who has interests, who has goals and who loves life; a person who is empowered to make a difference in the world and not be without a voice in society.” Please note that non-disabled supporters are also welcome to participate.
Last year, hundreds of people wore 3eLove temporary tattoos or drew the 3eLove symbol on themselves to promote International Day of Acceptance. More changed their profile picture on Facebook or emailed their friends and colleagues about it. Find out how to do that here.
3eLove is having an acceptance sale in honor of Jan. 20, 2013 that the last until Jan. 27 so even if you miss this year's International Day of Acceptance, you will be all geared up to go for next year, possibly at a discount!
