We as consumers asked for better; we desired improvements in entertainment; we sought more functional cars; we clamored for our cellphones to do more; we are indeed the new economy, the core reason for new engines of growth. And accordingly, new entrepreneurial ideas sprung up, to answer that call of duty. The 2013 gadgets, displayed at CES, this January 6, 2013, in Las Vegas, NV, of new uses of existing technology, and eye-opening innovations feed right into the ideology of ‘the new business model.’ Many discussions through the past several years have concluded concepts of weakness and frailty in world economics; but in part, the truism reflects a new transformation. So, it is thru CES, one can meet the new generation of leaders; the ones that are facilitators of the new tools that continue the spark, for shifting the landscape of future possibilities and the creation of more business giants, globally. Here are small samplings of participants who are contributing to potential of growing: Kraftwurx, a made-to-order digital manufacturing enterprise; www.digitalfactory3d.com; Walls360, an on-demand wallgraphics factory; www.walls360.com; SimulTV, share tv watching, with a visual network of people in differing locations and devices, www.simultv.com; Spare One, the emergency mobile phone using AA batteries, www.spareone.com; Sphero, watching a robot come to life, www.gosphero.com; Voxeet, making the case for assuring the best in conference calling, www.voxeet.com; Chevrolet, in-vehicle voice commands or touchscreen, www.gm.com; and CordCruncher, tangle free earphones, www.cordcruncher.com. And, of course, there were much more in entities and products and services being presented. This is about organizing, presenting, and opening up business opportunities. This event brings together makers, aspiring producers, public relation groups and marketers, those with an ability to provide resources, and representatives of the end-users. The underlying goal is revenue generation, not merely the ‘awe’ and ‘wow’ associated with gadgets. Some will exceed, exceedingly well. There is likely an importance to be here because technology transcends all sectors of society and impacting of all particulars of the work environment. Yet, in the end, the sincerity of good business dealings remain important, and so does the type of interactions that builds good relations, personally and economically, in the now, and down the road. For all, the truism of finding that something you love to do, and let it become the focus for forging ahead in life. Welcome to the 2013 CES.
